Pudtol, Apayao โ€“ The Municipal Solid Waste Management Board (MSWMB) convened its 3rd Quarter Meeting today, August 20 to address pressing environmental concerns, particularly focusing on solid waste management at the household and barangay levels. The meeting also served as a platform to discuss the upcoming waste analysis and characterization study in the municipality and the province-wide search for the most eco-friendly municipality and schools.
Key matters tackled during the meeting centered on strengthening the implementation of solid waste management programs in the community. Board members emphasized the crucial role of proper waste segregation and disposal in maintaining a clean and healthy environment. Strategies to encourage household and barangay-level initiatives were discussed, including the implementation of stricter waste segregation policies, provision of adequate waste disposal facilities, and intensified information and education campaigns.
A significant highlight of the meeting was dedicated to the planning and execution of the upcoming Waste Analysis and Characterization Study (WACS). This scientific endeavor aims to identify the types and quantities of waste generated in the municipality, providing valuable data for developing effective waste management solutions.
