A grand slam awardee of GawadKalingasaKapaligiran from the office of the President as the cleanest inland body of water in the country. It is likewise a three-time nominee for Best River in the National Research for Cleanest and Greenest River. The river is perfect for swimming, picnic and leisure boating.

It is a new haven for rock enthusiasts. Its crystal clear river runs through high rise vertical rock walls of mountains. Its invigorating cold water is suitable for swimming, diving and rock climbing.

MATAGUISI CHURCH RUINS

It is standing approximately 6 meters high, the remains of this Spanish church demonstrate the ancient designs and accessories during its time. The old Spanish church is a historical landmark remaining in the province which shows the influence of the Spaniards in the past centuries to the historical and cultural fabric of Apayao.

SOLO

It is the municipality’s highest peak having an elevation of 1,231 meters above sea level; it is located at Barangay Upper Maton. This is a perfect place for hiking, trekking and sightseeing of the different scenic views.

EMILIA CHURCH RUINS

It is the landmark of the beginnings of the spread of Catholicism in Apayao. Spanish missionaries arrived at the Municipality of Pudtol in the 16th century. This marked the spread of Christianity and conversion of local’s belief from paganism to Christianity.

APAYAO RIVER

This unpolluted river flows from the water shed to the heartlands traversing 6 municipalities in Apayao. Tourist can take motorboat to navigate through its banks and see wildlife and fishes along the way

HUTUNGAN (Hidden Paradise)

“Hutungan” means big rocks, an Isnag term. It is a newly discovered tourist spot in the municipality which is perfect for adventure-seekers and those who are looking for refreshment.
