In celebration of Zero Waste Month and in support of Republic Act No. 9003 or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000, the Municipal Government of Pudtol conducted a Clean-Up Drive today, January 30, 2026, in selected tourism sites within the municipality.
The activity was carried out at Hutungan Hidden Paradise along Maton River in Brgy. Lower Maton, and at Namulinan Natural Pool along Nagan River in Brgys. Swan and Lower Maton, Pudtol. Participants coming from the different offices of the LGU of Pudtol, including Section Heads, assembled early in the morning at the Municipal Hall for registration and orientation before proceeding to their respective assigned clean-up areas.
Anchored on the Zero Waste Month theme, “RA 9003 @ 25: Honoring Our Past, Renewing Commitments, Innovating for a Cleaner Tomorrow,” the activity underscored the importance of collective action and shared responsibility in environmental protection and sustainable waste management.
The Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) led by Engr. Harrisley L. Burigsay and the Municipal Planning and Development Office (MPDO) led by EnP. Norbert P. Abulencia served as the lead offices in the coordination and implementation of the activity. Proper waste segregation and strict observance of zero-waste practices were observed throughout the activity, and collected wastes were properly managed and disposed of in accordance with existing environmental standards.
The conduct of the clean-up drive reflects the strong leadership and environmental advocacy of Hon. Edmar D. Pascua, J.D., as well as the active participation and cooperation of LGU offices and personnel, including their respective Section Heads, in preserving and protecting Pudtol’s natural attractions for future generations.
