Amidst the beautiful backdrop of Cebu and its “old city vibes”, the Hon. Mayor Hector Reuel D. Pascua is currently attending the kick-off activity for the implementation of the Support and Assistance Fund to Participatory Budgeting (SAFPB) Program under the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF) borne out of the collaborative effort of the DILG-DBM, as the national government’s initiative to foster an environment of participatory governance.
On it’s pilot year, 2024, the SAFPB program shall focus on Water Supply, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WaSH), a thrust that aligns with the Sustainable Development Goal #6 and the objectives set in the Philippine Development Plan.
The event served as a venue to formally recognize the local government units (LGUs) benefiting from the SAFPB program, graced by Sec. Benjamin Abalos Jr. of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and Sec. Amenah Pangandaman of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) together with other 75 Local Chief Executives (LCEs) and various Civil Society Organizations (CSOs).
The municipality of Pudtol is one among the 75 LGU-recipients nationwide; with the Municipality of Mayoyao in Ifugao, as the only 2 LGU-recipients in the Cordillera Region.
The municipality received a total fund from the SAFPB amounting to 13.33M for the Expansion of Water System Facilities.
